Florida Contractor's CE Requirements:

Certified Contractors - 14 hours of continuing education credits are due by August 31st every two years on the even numbered years, ie: 2012 Of the 14 hours, at least 1 hour is required in each of the following subjects:

  1. Specialized or advanced module course approved by the Florida Building Commission, or the Board;
  2. Workplace safety;
  3. Business practices;
  4. Workers’ compensation;
  5. Laws and rules regulating the construction industry;
  6. Wind mitigation methodologies, if license is held in the following category: General Building, Residential, Roofing, Specialty Structure, or Glass and Glazing.
Professional education can consist of substantive subjects dealing with practice of the construction trades, including land development, land use, arbitration practices, energy conservation, professional development, planning and zoning, estimating, finance and bookkeeping, marketing techniques, service clients, personal and property protection for the licensee's clients and similar topics.
